Naturally

Colour, contrast, texture, motion and sound...they are attention makers. They are also vessels that have the power to pull us in, challenging us to take a deeper look. As I am drawn in, the desire to connect with the core of the matter becomes almost insatiable. I want to touch my subject and take it in and hear it's voice

to see inside
to understand it's components
to learn what makes up the greater whole

This desire drives most of what I do.

Endless opportunity is always holding out it's hands - wiggling it's fingers - teasing us - saying "Come touch me if you dare - get to know me - I am so much more than you think you see."

When I reach out to touch those fingers, and I connect, I am rapt in the wonders of that which the elements have made. My art comes from this place. Naturally.

The pieces below are one of a kind, as they are unable to be reproduced. They are made of icicles that were created during the winter storms of early 2011. Photography was used to capture the work, however, I am not a photographer, I am someone with a camera. Photography, like the use of light and heat manipulation, is just of the one components that makes up this mixed media art.

New works will be added periodically. These pieces, along with others will be on exhibit at the H-Art Gallery in Peekskill, NY. (Details to follow) The opening reception will be on April 20, 2012.
